The Leonard Da Vinci Assistive Technology Vocational Education and Training (ATVET) project is to hold a final dissemination event in Brussels on Wednesday 21st October 2009.
The outcome of a collaboration between European partners from Germany, Finland, Ireland and the UK, is the development of accredited (where applicable), blended learning programmes for people working directly to support users of assistive technology.
Using the underlying principles of an existing UK-based vocational qualification aimed at ‘front line’ staff, the ATVET project has developed a blended learning package which includes an online electronic interactive medium. Part of this package has been translated into partner languages.
The final dissemination event will showcase ATVET's work and will include case studies and feedback from pilot groups. We feel it is also vital to also examine some of the challenges that will impede the use of assistive technology and the implementation of the required training in order to inform the best way forward.
